What Is Cyber Essentials Plus?
Cyber Essentials is a scheme developed by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) to help organisations protect themselves against the most common forms of cyber-attack. The Plus tier takes things further. Rather than relying on self-assessment, it requires hands-on technical testing by an accredited, independent assessor, covering everything from firewall configuration and user access controls to patch management and malware protection.
In short, it's not something you can simply declare. Every control has to be demonstrated and verified, which is what makes the accreditation genuinely meaningful.
